ENARADA, Bhubaneshwar, November 13, 2013:

The 6th World Congress on Preventive and Regenerative Medicine/ Stem Cells- Innovation-Rejuvenation-Regulation has been Inaugurated at KIIT University on 13th November, 2013.

Prof. Oliver Smithies, Nobel Laureate (2007), University of North Corolina, USA; Dr. V. M. Katoch, DG, ICMR & Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI; Mr. Sanmit Ahuja, ETI Dynamics, UK; DR. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof N. L. Mitra, Chancellor, KIIT University; Dr. P. P. Mathur, VC, KIIT; Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Organizing Secretary and Dr. B. N. Banerjee Co-Organizing Secretary, 6th WCPRM were graced the occasion.

Pointing out on the stem cell Innovation-Rejuvenation-Regulation Prof. Oliver Smithies said different aspects of Biotechnology and the importance of Collaborative Science, Research & Innovation. Dr. Katoch also said the challenges of Stem cell research and the role of ministry to encourage the scientists in India.

In his welcome address Dr Samanta thanked all respected delegates for their presence on the occasion of World congress which is first of its kind in India in students’ prospectus.

Prof. N. L. Mitra said about the relevant topic regarding Biotechnology and its ethics. Dr. P. P. Mathur also pointed out how students of medicine and biochemistry could be benefited by attending such type of congress. Dr. Suar gave a brief about the programme, while Mr. Snamit Ahuja spoke on stem cell innovation cluster.
