Bangalore , January 31, 2013 ; The President of Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) and the former Chief minister of Karnataka B.S.Yedyurappa today requested the Speaker K.G.Bopaiah to make himself available in the office so that many more Ministers and BJP MLA’s who are set to resign within few days can easily submit their resignation letters.
Speaking to journalists B.S.Yeddyurappa clarified that he is neither interested in pulling down the BJP Government nor asked his followers in the BJP Government to submit their resignations. “I have not asked any one to tender resignation. But as a chief of KJP, I welcome them to my party if they come on their own after resigning from BJP” he said.

Many BJP MLA’s who have resigned on January 29 including Former Minister’s Udasi, Shobha Karandlaje, MLA’s Nehru Olekar etc., have joined KJP officially today. B.S Yeddyurappa welcomed them by giving the primary membership of his party to all the leaders, in the KJP office located in Malleshwaram.
B.S.Yeddyurappa is confident of his party coming to power after the next elections. “I have been touring the entire state. I am overwhelmed by the response general public showing to my public meetings. When other political parties find it difficult to get people’s support I am getting the assembly of thousands of people that too in remote areas” he said beamingly.
By indicating that many Ministers and MLA’s are ready to submit resignations , B.S.Yeddyurappa is again making the point clear that the present Government led by Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar may not survive till the completion of its term.
The Total strength of Karnataka Assembly including Speaker and nominated member is 225. With the two vacancies created by the resignation of former CM B.S.Yeddyurappa and Kundapur constituency MLA Haladi Srinivasa Shetty, the Assembly strength after 13 MLA’s resignation is 211. The magic number required to prove majority is 106 and at present the strength of the Government is 108(Including BJP 105 + 1 Independent + 1 nominated + 1 speaker). Congress has 71 members, JD(S) has 26 and there are 6 independents (including BSR Congress of Sriramulu) .
