KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta was conferred the prestigious “NIQR Bajaj Auto award for outstanding quality man” at a glittering function at Chennai on Saturday.

Dr Samanta was honoured with this award for standing as a best example of overpowering the perils of poverty and privation to position him to provide unseen opportunities to deprived sections of the society in a spirit of service, kindness and love. He was also chosen this award for being an inspiration to millions of young people who are looking for a role model to emulate for serving the poor in the country.
Dr Samanta, who has no self-interest or personal agenda has made giant strides in leveraging education for poverty eradication, elimination of social alienation, rural development, socio-economic transformation and world peace. His brain child Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) is providing free education to 25,000 students’ free residential education to tribal students from KG to PG in Bhubaneswar, Odisha and also across the country.
