ENARADA, Mangalore/Sullia May 28, 20-2013:
Locals in Baithadka, Adkar had a field day on the late evening of May 27, 2013 when they could get petrol free of cost from a tanker that began to leak after it turned turtle.
Locals threw all precautions to the air and began to collect petrol that began to leak from the tanker which was carrying it to Kushalnagar from Mangalore. On hearing the news locals had gathered in large number at the accident site with huge cans, vessels, utensils and all sorts of bottles to fill the petrol.
Eye witness said that initially the leakage was less but people in their greed to collect more fuel worked out a bigger hole, thus endangering the lives of all those gathered. The police on reaching the spot dispersed the crowd and stopped the leakage and averted any mishap.
