This was supposed to be one of the best schools in the yesteryears. However, today, the school is slowly turning into a garbage dump yard and a taxi stand.

The Magadi road Police colony school was one of the most preferred schools in the eighties and nineties. People from distant areas would stand in long queue for an admission in this school. The reputation of this school was such that the parents wanted their kids to get admitted only at this school even if they had seats available in other nearby schools.

The school also had a huge playground which had nurtured many young sport talents. However, now the same playground is soon turning into a dumping yard. The school authorities say that garbage vehicles enter from back side where there is no gate. Meanwhile, the open grounds have also turned into a taxi stand with the nearby vehicles finding it a convenient place to park vehicles.

“As back gate is deliberately damaged to have free access into our school premises, we cannot control dumping of debris. Even the space meant for students recreation
is occupied by cars. we cannot sit in classes due to stench and is also resulted in mosquito menace. Swatch bharat is a dream for us,” said a teacher who didn’t want to be named.

The school comes under BBMP Dr. Rajkumar ward (No.106) jurisdiction and it’s councillor Roopa blames contractor for the mess. Speaking to eNarada, Roopa said, “There is upgradtion work going on in the area and debris collected from there are being dumped into school premises. I will ask contractor to remove it at the earliest.”

So, it is high time for the BBMP to wake up and clean up the mess before one more institute turns into ‘garbage’.
