Industrialists wants Government to set up Export Trade Centre in Mysore

Enarada, Mysore, July 1, 2013:

The city industrialists today urged the state government to set up an Export Trade Centre in city.

The industrialists, led by Mysore Industries Association (MIA), submitted a memorandum in this regard to the MLA Mr. vasu, who was the chief guest at the export promotion and awareness program held at MIA premises here on the outskirts of the city.

Replying to the memorandum, Vasu said that he would go through the appeal and assured to give top priority for establishing the export trade centre once the budget allocations were announced.

An awareness program on “Export Promotion and Export Credit Insurance in India” for industrial exporters of the city was held at the Mysore Industries Association (MIA)  aegis  and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) of India, Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) and the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VITC),  was which was inaugurated by KASSIA President B.P. Shashidhar.

VITC Deputy Director Shariff, who made a power-point presentation, opined that the State and Central Governments must create awareness among the industrialists aspiring to export their products by creating foreign markets.

He said that the VITC is educating exporters about the impact of globalisation, industrial revolution, Information Technology and reduced transport cost and how to grab the foreign markets.

“An export policy is also on the anvil to safeguard the interests of exporters and to avoid any fear of risks,” he said.

About 200 industrialists from Mysore, Nanjangud, Hebbal Industrial Area and Yadavagiri Industrial Area participated in the program.

B.P. Shashidhar, President Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), D. Srinath, Vice-President, MIA, N.H. Jayanth, President, HIEMA, Srishaila Ramannanavar, Immediate Past-Secretary, MIA and Manjunath of VIMA Rubbers were felicitated on the occasion.

ECGC Assistant General Manager A.K. Pandian, MIA President P. Vishwanath, VITC Deputy Director Murulesh, MIA General Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, Vice-President D. Srinath and others were present on the occasion.
