Karnataka Government wants postponement of NEET examination

Mysore, April  9, 2013:  

The  state government has written a letter to union human resource department  ministry to postpone the National Eligibility  and entrance test (NEET)  conducted by  central board of secondary  education (CBSE)  scheduled  to be held on May 5  in view of Assembly  elections, said S A Ramadas, Medical education Minister.

Speaking to journalists  here he said as many as 40,000 students are appearing for the NEET examinations.  If the examinations conducted on the May 5 , their parents  would be deprived from the voting for the assembly elections. It was also noticed that another 15000 staff members would be involved in the examinations works. Hence, the state government has appealed to the union human resource ministry to postpone the  examinations. In this regard the state government has already approached the concern department, he added.
