Mind game for the Tribal Children
ENARADA, Bhubaneshwar, August 17, 2013:
The KISS Chess Academy, a historic milestone in promoting the game of Chess in the state, was inaugurated on the 67th Independence Day at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Campus.
The Academy was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Sekhar Chandra Sahu, (IM), President, All Odisha Chess Association, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, Mr. Manoj Panigrahi, Jt. Secy., AOCA, Mr. Subasis Patnaik, Exe. Member, AOCA, Mr. R. N. Dash, Secretary, KISS and Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS.
This unique initiative will be a model concept in introducing the mind game of Chess amongst the tribal children.
It is an experiment to prove that given the opportunity and support, the tribal community children can rub shoulders with every chess player in this world and checkmate the world class chess players in due course of time.
The All Odisha Chess Association thanked Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, for introducing this mind game in their educational institution.
Coaching would be imparted by Sri Gourahari Mohapatra, ELO Rating – 1933, who is a professional coach having an experience of 10 years in Mumbai, under the supervision and guidance of Sri Sekhar Chandra Sahu, IM.
