ENARADA, Bhubaneshwar, December 8, 2015

It has become common for the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), world’s largest tribal school to create records.

Now, KISS is gearing up to create another record; entry to the Guinness World Records for creating the world’s largest human chain stretching to a length of 30 kilometres!

slideOn December 10, around 25,000 tribal students will hit the streets of Bhubaneswar holding hands to denounce the terror incidents across the country. As the students will hold each other’s hand connecting the major roads of Bhubaneswar, they would seek pledge for “joining hands against terrorism and urging for peace in the world”.

The Guinness World Records Organization will witness this immense effort, adjudicate and chronicle the record that is due to be made on the occasion.

KISS and KIIT founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said, “I thank the 25,000 tribal children for taking up the initiative to create the world’s largest human chain. I can visualise the scene on Thursday when we find nothing but only the KISS human chain on the Bhubaneswar roads. Let me tell you, organising this mammoth event is not an easy task yet our commitment to root out terrorism is driving our passion.”

This unique event will be graced and flagged off by Governor of Odisha Dr Sc Jamir at Governor House Square at 8 am. Later at 10 am at Kalinga Stadium, Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik will address the students at the concluding function.

The Human Chain shall also be specially cheered at 10 prominent locations where distinguished citizens of the city will address the students and various cultural programmes shall be rendered. The entire programme will be telecast live on Kalinga TV and can also be watched at http://kalingatv.com/live/
