It was a rare meeting of two social entrepreneurs who have dedicated their lives to feed poor children. Bengaluru-based Akshaya Patra chairman Madhu Pandit Dasa visited Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) where free food and education is provided to 25,000 kids.

After his visit on Tuesday ( February 21, 2017) Mr Madhu Pandit Dasa said, “I really relate to KISS completely. It is not about feeding alone here but the compassion and passion of Dr Achyuta Samanta to run KISS is just mind boggling. The work that he is doing is much more lasting than Akshay Patra. If you calculate from 1992 to till date, it is 25 years and lakhs of children have come out of KISS. It is not about transforming lives but it is about giving them life. “Dr Samanta’s work is amazing and hats off to him! More and more social institutions and entrepreneurs should learn from Dr Samanta; the way he started, challenges and how he overcame it and still struggling to serve the society,” he said.

Reacting to the Akshaya Patra’s team visit, KISS and KIIT founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said, “I was delighted to welcome Madhu Pandit Dasa and glad to know that Akshaya Patra is involved in providing bisi oota to children.”
