KSIC to open showrooms in all districts

The Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) Limited is planning to open its showrooms in all the district head quarters and other cities in the country in order to increase the sales

The Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) Limited, Bangalore, which has a silk-weaving factory in Mysore and silk filature in T. Narasipur, opened its new showroom in the Garuda Mall in the city last evening.

Presently, the KSIC is selling its products through the five showrooms in Mysore— seven showrooms in Bangalore -one showroom in Channapatna, Spun Silk Factory premises, Channapatna; T.Nagar Showroom, Chennai and Hyderabad Showroom, Aameerpet, Hyderabad.

The KSIC’s modern silk filature at T. Narasipura, which is situated 40 kms away from Mysore, produces raw silk yarn from imported reeling machines from Japan and South Korea. The high quality silk yarn produced in the filature from the cocoons is being used at silk weaving factory, Mysore for the manufacturing of world famous ‘Mysore Silk Sarees.’

On an average, KSIC is manufacturing about 70,000 sarees per year (about 4,20,000 mts. of fabric), comprising of mainly Crepe-de-chine, Georgette, Tissues with different varieties of gold lace borders ranging from 1/2″ to 6″ with checks, buttas, prints etc. along with wedding sarees with rich pallu and body.

There are totally 139 looms, both in new and old sheds. The average daily production is about 1,200 mts of fabric. KSIC has full-fledged dyeing and printing sections.
