Prabhu B. Chavan, BJP MLA from Aurad constituency who allegedly watched pictures of Priyanaka
Gandhi by zooming on his mobile phone inside the Assembly session on December 10, was punished today by suspending him from attending the day’s proceedings.
Ambareesh, Housing minister and S.S.Mallikarjun, Congress MLA from Davangere North constituency, who were allegedly used Mobile phone inside the session were given strict warning.
Kagodu Thimmappa, speaker, announced the token punishment to Prabhu Chavan and warning to Ambareesh, S.S.Mallikarjun duo at the beginning of session today.
Soon after the verdict, Prabhu Chavan who was seated inside the assembly hall left the place in a hurry.
It can be recalled the entire day’s proceedings on December 11, was disrupted with both Congress members demanding punishment to BJP MLA and BJP members shouting slogans urging speaker to take action against Congress Members who used mobile phones inside the Assembly hall.
However, by banning mobile phone inside the Assembly hall, speaker has put an end to the issue and allowed the smooth functioning of 4th day of winter session of the Assembly.
