Mysore to emerge as the next IT destination?

NASSCOM is expecting Rs15,000 crores business and 10 percent of export revenue of Karnataka from Mysore in the next three years, said Krirshnakumar Natarajan, chairman of NASSCOM.

The proactive measures of the Government of Karnataka to take IT, ITES and Electronics to Tier 2 cities in the State is taking shape with the Department of IT, BT and S & T organizing its first ever conference based on Mysore’s emergence as the new IT & Electronics destination.

Delivering the key note address at the conference of Mysore – the emerging ITE destination- future of IT and Electronics organized by the Department of IT and BT here he said “Today, we are delivering services to 70 different countries in 35 different languages. The Indian IT Sector is aiming at 300 billion dollar business by year 2020.”

“Lot of innovation in technology would come through startups” he said.

He appealed to the Government of Karnataka to help nurture necessary eco-system and attract one or two large players which will help boost the Business atmosphere in Mysore.

Speaking on the occasion, MR. I S N Prasad , Principal Secretary of the Department of IT, BT and S&T of the Government of Karnataka said, “Government has a special focus on small and emerging companies. The start-up warehouse is the new initiative which is started by Government of Karnataka in conjunction with NASSCOM. This Programme will tremendously help Young Entrepreneurs to explore their business ideas without worrying about many administrative hassles.” He added

MR .P K Das , Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Bangalore informed that STPI has plans to set-up 50,000+ Sft Incubation Facility in Mysore. He announced that STPI would be showcasing a Pavilion of Start-Ups in the forthcoming Bangalore ITE.biz and invited Mysore based Companies to take benefit of the same.

President, association of Bangalore animating industry (ABAI),Mr. P V G Menon president India Electronics and semiconductor association (IESA), Mr. Nagarajan Srinivasan ,  Chairman, CII-Mysore, MCCI President,Mr Sudhakara Shetty, Smt C. Shikha IAS, Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate, Mysore and others were present.
