ENARADA, Bhubaneshwar, November 8, 2013:
Pradyumna Bal Memorial Hospital, a 1300 bedded multi-speciality hospital attached to Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) under KIIT University, was inaugurated by Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, today.
The inaugural event held on the occasion of 81st Birthday Anniversary Celebration of Late Pradyumna Kishore Bal, Founder President of KIIT & KISS.
Dedicating the hospital to the people of the State, Shri Patnaik congratulated KIIT and its founder, Dr. A. Samanta for setting up the multi-speciality hospital. Referring to the poor access of the population to health services, he hoped that the initiative would be able to take quality healthcare to common people.
Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, Dr. B. C. Das, Principal and Smt. Saswati Bal, President, KIIT & KISS graced the inaugural ceremony.
The hospital aims to provide modern medical treatment at an affordable price, said Dr. A. Samanta. It has attracted highly educated and experienced specialists and super-specialists from different nationally and internationally reputed medical colleges and research institutes, he informed, adding that 400 beds are reserved for poor patients belonging to below poverty line category.
The hospital offers super speciality services in a number of departments including Nephrology; Cardiology & Cardiothoracic; Pediatrics Surgery; Gastroenterology; Oncology & Onco Surgery; Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery; Urology; Neurology & Neuro Surgery; Endocrinology; Rheumatology, besides speciality services in almost all disciplines.
It has 100 air-conditioned cabins, 100 ICU Beds and 50 Pediatric and Neonatal ICU beds with ultramodern ventilator facility. Some other features of the Pradyumna Bal Memorial Hospital include 16 Modern Operation Theatres, 24 hour Casualty and Trauma Care, 24-hrs high end ambulance service, 8 Computerized Dialysis Machines and 24 hour blood bank facility.
One of the unique features of the hospital is its self-contained state-of-the-art Central Laboratory & Radio Diagnostics.
