A 12-year old girl from Odisha will represent India at the Little Miss World 2017 to be held at Greece later this year.

Padmalaya Nanda

Ms Padmalaya Nanda, who hails from Cuttack, is the first ever person from Eastern and North East to get such achievement. She has also been invited to the world finals of the Junior Model International to be held at Goa.

She also bagged three coveted titles-Best Ball Gown of The Contest (interestingly, the Ball Gown was designed by herself), Best Pre-Teen JMI winner 2017 Jury Choice and Best Pre-Teen JMI Winner (People’s Choice) at the Junior Model International beauty pageant held at Kozhikode on Wednesday.

Daughter of famous Supreme court lawyer Prasanna Kumar Nanda and Dr. Subhasudha Priyadarsini , Padmalaya had mesmerised one and all during the auditions. She said that she was interested in modelling & fashion designing and wanted to take it up as a career though her current focus was to excel in studies. She also credited her success to constant encouragement from her parents.

Padmalaya also hopes to be a brand ambassador for our country so that she can take up a lot of social initiatives in the future.
