Hubli -Dharwad, February 20 : The two day bandh called by various organizations in protest against price rise evoked good response in the twin cities. Although vehicles were seen moving, they were few and far in between. The lack of vehicles caused some problems for commuters from other cities, who struggled to reach their destinations.
Meanwhile, activists of various organizations like CITUC staged a protest march against the central government and carried a procession from Ambedkar circle in Hubli till Tahasildar’s office and shouted slogans against the UPA government.
In a bid to express anger over Union Government for the alleged partial treatment meted out to Karnataka in sharing the Kaveri water , Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a Rail Roko in Hubli Railway Station and the train services resumed after police arrested the activists .
