Students from Jammu & Kashmir visits Bangalore under Army’s operation Sadbhavana

Enarada, Bangalore,  June 19, 2013 :

A group of 20 Girl Students and three teachers hailing from remote areas of Mahore Tehsil, district Reasi of Jammu and Kashmir visited various places in  Bangalore.

The tour was undertaken in pursuance of the objectives of ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ by the Army  from June 15 – 24. The tour was flagged off by General Officer Commanding,  Reasi based Counter Insurgency Force on 15 June 2013.

They visited  places of historical and cultural significance  including Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technical Museum, Cubbon Park, Bangalore Palace, Aquarium,  Infosys Campus and prestigious schools and colleges of Bangalore to introduce students to developments in fields of Information Technology and modern education standards.

The aim of the tour was to increase awareness about the rich cultural heritage, current developments, quality of life and places of interest in other parts of the country. The tour will also instil a sense of awareness and national integration amongst the touring students.

The success of the tour will result in fostering close relationship between the locals and the Army. It will also develop a sense of belonging to the nation amongst the youth of remote areas in J&K.
