Doctors should be empathetic towards patients- Health Minister

ENARADA, Mysore, July 9,2013:

The national scheme of supplying free Iron and Folic acid capsules on weekly basis would be lunched in the state on July 17.

Speaking to journalists here he said the capsules would be given along with midday meals to primary and high school students of government schools to arrest anemia. The campaign would be on par with the pulse polio campaign with a budgetary allocation of Rs 9 crores.

The National Health Mission would be experimentally launched in Bangalore, Mysore, Bagalkot and Ullal (D.K.), he said assuring that about 4,500 doctors and para-medics would be appointed soon.

He also conducted a review meeting of health department on the occasion.

“The frequent squabbles between doctors and patients could be prevented if the former behaved empathetically towards the latter,” opined the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U.T. Khader.

Addressing the party activists at the Congress office here today, Khader said the party had become stronger after Congress came to power in the State.  Hailing the activists as supreme power, Khader assured full support to them to implement the government schemes.
