Tablet computers to yield Agricultural info

ENARADA, Bengaluru, January 24, 2015

The farmers can use tablet computers to ask questions or share their knowledge. Government today launched e-Kisaan, an initiative to help farmers with latest technologies.

As many as 1500 farmer clubs in Bagalkot and Bijapur districts, each consisting of 15 to 20 members will receive tablets loaded with eKisaan software platform named ‘Namma Raitha.’

CM distributed such tablets symbolically to few farmers today in his home office ‘Krishna’ and urged the farming community to take full advantage of the scheme.

Farmers in the state gets relevant information on Crops, info on weather and soil by using e-kisaan Tablets, said S R Patil, Minister for ITBT, Planning, S&T. “Farming community can also access Fertilizers, Pesticides – Composition, Usage and Compatibility and learn about available benefits / policies.”
