Tribal student of KISS Selected for Asian Rugby Championship

ENARADA, Bhubaneshwar, May 24, 2015

Muna Murmu, +3 Final Year Arts Student of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has been placed in the India Team to participate in the Asian 15-A-Side Rugby Championship.

The championship will be held from 27th to 30th May 15 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. India will play its 1st match with Uzbekistan on 27th and 2nd match with Pakistan on 28th.

Muna is continuously representing India for last three years. He played for India in Malaysia, Sri Lanka & Thailand for last three years. This is his fourth tour. India team will proceed for Uzbekistan on 25th may 2015.

Earlier, Muna had represented India in Asian under-20 Rugby Championship held at Laos in 2010 and visited France in 2009.

Muna belongs  Santal tribal family of Chudanga in Khurda district.   Expressing his satisfaction over Muna’s success Dr. A. Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS said, he is not only the pride of father Surendra and mother Neha Murmu, he is the pride of entire tribal community.
