Yoga Shastra is a boon for all, especially for students,  as it helps in overall development of Body, Mind and Intellect, opined  Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor of  S-VYASA Deemed University, Bengaluru.

The objective of Education is to make the students understand their true potential and transform them into great personalities, but the modern educational system is curtailing the overall development of students and creative thinking among students is vanishing, lamented  Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor of  S-VYASA Deemed University, Bengaluru.

He was on a day’s visit to Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences(KISS), Bhubaneshwar, Odisha to propagate YOGA practices among students and to begin a process for setting up Life Training and Character Building Education with Yoga as a way of Life jointly with KIIT University.

“We want students to realise their potential and excel in all walks of life. Indian Students should bring medals in Olympics, evolve as great scientists, entrepreneurs, Teachers, Musicians etc., and brings glory to our country. By practicing YOGA shastra, it is possible to keep the body in good health, sound mind  and improves intelligence. We are happy to join hands with KIIT & KISS to extend our expertise in the field of YOGA,” said Dr. H.R. Nagendra.

30 minute YOGA practice on the occasion of International YOGA day on June 21

Further adding about  upcoming International YOGA day on June 21, H.R.Nagendra said that Modi Government at the centre is keen on spreading the message of benefits of YOGA to all the citizen.

“Modi Government has designed a 30 Minute session  consisting of  Prayer for 5 minutes, YOGA Asanas including Pranayama, Bhujangasana, Syrua Namaskara and Shavasana for 15 minutes,  Meditation for 5 minutes  and the last 5 minutes to offer our pledge towards nation building. This has to be practiced by each and every school , companies, organisations and individuals, and present it on JUNE 21 at the same time all over the country,” H.R. Nagendra requested.

Speaking on the occasion, Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS said, Tribal students of KISS are already practicing YOGA as part of their syllabus and are happy to take the assistance of S-VYASA university to further increase the systematic practice of YOGA.
