Though the exit polls have predicted a hung assembly, BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa feels that his party will win seats anywhere between 125 to 130.
Looking relaxed at his home after a hectic campaign across the state, BSY said that he has got a chance to understand the pulse of the people and hence he feels confident of a clear majority for the BJP.
BSY also predicted that caretaker Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was set to lose in both the seats. In Chamundeshwari, Siddaramaiah was facing a tough competition from JD(s) candidate GT Deve Gowda, while BJP candidate Sreeramulu was giving sleepless nights to Siddu in Badami.
“The chief minister will lose from both the constituencies. I am 100 percent confident about it,” said Yeddyurappa who predicted that Congress may win 70 seats and JD(S) may end up with just 22 to 25 seats.
Ready for Dalit CM: Siddu
Meanwhile, caretaker CM Siddaramaiah said that he was open to the idea of having a Dalit CM if the Congress High Command wishes so.
This is the first time Siddaramaiah is saying something like this as all the way he has maintained that only he will be the next CM. With exit polls predicting a hung assembly, poll pundits are predicting a coalition government in that case.
If there is a Congress and JD(S) coalition government, then the JD(S) may not agree for Siddaramaiah as a CM candidate. This was the same case in 2004 when JD(S) declined to support SM Krishna as CM candidate and chose Dharam Singh instead.
