Former Chief Minister and JD (S) State President H.D. Kumaraswamy performed puja for his Hi-tech poll vehicle Toyota Commuter Van today at the Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple in Gavipuram and started the campaign. His wife and JD(S) MLA Anitha Kumaraswamy was present when he kick started his party’s poll campaign on the auspicious day of 
Maha Shivarathri for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The poll vehicle is making news as it is specially built for the hectic campaign. Vehicle can be easily driven on narrow and congested roads to address small gathering. Four loud speakers are attached to the vehicle which allows people from all directions to hear the speech or pre recorded audio CD. To provide comfort to those using the vehicle, gadgets like Television Set, Wash Basin, cord-less phone and refrigerator is fitted.
The hydraulic lift attached with a cushion can also be used a dining table or sitting table. The vehicle which has a capacity of carrying 7 persons including driver , is designed by Raju Gowda of Sristi Travels , Wilson Gardens.
