Mangalore, April 10, 2013:
Chaos and wrangling has become commonplace in Mangalore in most of the political parties even as the parties are busy finalizing the second and subsequent lists of the candidates.
Though a relatively new party KJP in Mangalore is facing similar kind of chaos witnessed in Congress over giving ticket to J R Lobo. At a party meeting held yesterday, April 9 2013 in the city KJP witnessed infighting and bickering among the party supporters over ticket distribution.
One of the ticket aspirants alleged that party District Secretary asked for money in lieu of ticket resulting in many other supporters taking the Secretary to task.
The KJP has already announced candidates for five out of the eight assembly constituencies of Dakshina Kannada. Many local unit supporters claimed that the candidature finalized by the local unit was not taken into consideration while distributing tickets for aspirants. Some members even threatened to resign en masse if the new list of candidates is not withheld.
D K District President Ravindra Shetty, Harekala, leaders Mariamma Thomas, Gurucharan Hege Azeez Baikampady and many others were present.
