Enarada, Mangalore, June 19, 2013:
District Commissioner of Mangalore N Prakash has said that a task force will be constituted to ensure the implementation of the Gutka ban in the district.
Presiding over a meeting the DC said that the Task Force would conduct regular raids and initiate strict action against those indulging in selling gutka clandestinely.
The Task Force, he said would comprise Tahsildars and Taluk Medical Officers.
Those found selling the gutka would be fined up to Rs. 10 lakhs , the D C said adding that even trade license of such shops would be cancelled.
He also said that the money collected from offenders would be used for creating more awareness among people in the state through various programmes from time to time.
