Bangalore, March 18, 2013:
B.PAC (Bangalore Political Action Committee), an initiative that aims to build a better Bangalore, have been organising various programmes across the city to promote voter registration efforts among the youth, thereby ensuring maximum people’s participation in democracy.
B.PAC in association with Smart Vote has organised voter registration drives in multiple camps across key corporates, educational institutions, residential areas and participated in some of the well-known events happening in the city to support this cause. In the last few weeks to advocate citizen friendly voter registration, it has had several meetings with BBMP and Chief Election Officer of Karnataka.
B.PAC has already conducted programmes to support this initiative across Infosys, Cisco, HP, Wipro, Aricent, Alcatel Lucent, Mistral, Vmware campuses, HSR lay out, Vijay Bank colony, Ranka colony etc. Also it has partnered with some of the key events like Sunday Soul Santhe at ITPL, Start-up fest and Kitsch Mandi.
According to Revathy Ashok, Official Spokesperson, B.PAC, “Today’s educated middle class feel politics is the problem. But politics is also the solution. To make Bangalore a world- class city for all citizens and help it continue to support rural Karnataka growth, it is important to find solutions and we feel that having right set of people at the governance level will make it happen. As a prelude to this we firmly believe in supporting voter registration efforts to strengthen people’s involvement in democracy”.
Over the next two weeks, B.PAC is planning to host a series of voter registration camps across some of the prominent campuses in the city like JNC, MCC, Christ University, Mahindra Satyam, Broadcom, HCL, Mindtree and Citrix.
