A car catches fire while on the move in Rajajinagar and the public douses the fire voluntarily even before the arrival of Fire engine.
The incident took place today in front of Navrang theatre at 9:15pm when three family members residing in Yeshwanthpur was on their way to have dinner at the sagar restaurant located near Navarang theatre on Dr. Rajkumar Road.
Tarun Kumar, owner of Maruti Zen car bearing registration number KA 03 Z 351 was driving the car with two of his female relatives sitting at the back when the incident took place.

Speaking to Enarada.com, Tarun kumar said, “After crossing Navarang signal I noticed smoke emerging from bonnet, applied a sudden brake and all three of us exited in a hurry. Within few seconds, Fire appeared in front portion and it was scary as the combination of smoke and fire totally covered the car and as the area was dark, fire was visible to ever one on the busy road. Some good Samaritans rushed to nearby residents and brought several buckets of water and started pouring on the car. But the fire was still appearing at different parts. Someone managed to open the bonnet and we poured water on the battery & engine, then fire subsidised and finally extinguished.”
However, Police and a Fire Engine rushed to the spot but returned with a sigh of relief as the mishap was averted by the presence of mind of locals.
