As media is working independently under constitution, Election commission is not going to regulate or restrict media but expect self regulation, said Anil Kumar Jha, Chief Electoral officer, Karnataka. He was speaking in the workshop ‘ELECTION AND MEDIA’ jointly organised by office of the Election Commission and Information Department, Government of Karnataka on April 8, 2014.
“We do not even dream of giving any directions or any instructions to the media but we expect that there will be a great amount of self regulation” Anil Kumar Jha said.
Senior Journalists, Advocate and officials from Information Department spoke about prevailing chaotic situation in the media world and offered valuable suggestions to counter falling image of media due to paid news.
