In a brief ceremony at the Raj Bhavan today, Justice D.H. Waghela took charge as the CJ of Karnataka High court in the presence of Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj and Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar.
President Pranab Mukherjee had appointed Justice D.H. Waghela, Judge of the Gujarat High Court, as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court.
He succeeds Justice Vikramajit Sen, elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court. His tenure as the CJ is till August 2016.
