Mangalore, May 12, 2013;
N Prakash who was the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada before the elections, will be back as DC as he has been transferred back to Dakshina Kannada. Prakash was one among the 21 IAS officers who was transferred by the election commission last month in view of the elections. On completion of elections to the assembly these officers are now re-transferred and majority of them have got back the post they held when they were transferred.
It may be recalled that 12 IAS officers of KAS cadre who were functioning as Deputy Commissioners were transferred by the election commission and were replaced by direct IAS recruits. However, KAS promotes had approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) questioning this action of commission. The matter then went to High Court and the court had ruled that the officers should be posted back to their earlier places once the election process gets completed. Accordingly N Prakash comes back to Mangalore as Deputy Commissioner.
