New KSRTC bus depot at Vijyanagara fourth stage, on the outskirts of the city, was inagurated today.

ENARADA,Mysore, September 24, 2013:

The Karnataka government has received lion share of 2100 buses under the Jawaharlal Nehru national urban renewal mission (JNNURM)out of 8000 buses were distributed across the country, said Transport minister Ramalinga Reddy here today.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Rs 3 crores worth KSRTC bus depot at Vijyanagara fourth stage, on the outskirts of the city.

He said out of total 2100 buses , 125 buses given to Mysore , 1000 buses given to Bangalore and the rest distributed for all other KSRTC divisons.

He also said that Rs 200 crore projects for further development of Mysore division transport system submitted again to the union government which includes more number of bus depots, bus shelters and stands.

In order to help the tourists and visitors during the world famous Dasara festivities the KSRTC has taken up various services including packages for tourist spots in and around the Mysore with additional 500 bus services, he added.
Speaking on the occasion district in-charge minister V. Srinivasa Prasad said that the KSRTC has become the role modal for the others in the country providing best services in both urban and rural areas particularly the students.

From the newly inaugurated depot,  30 new buses were put on service which would help people from 125 villages to commute.
