ENARADA, Mysore, June 22, 2014
Cycling holidays are catching up fast in many countries as it allows time to take in the spectacular surroundings. With the same idea, a cycling tour was organised today in Mysore city to create awareness on heritage buildings.
Over 30 enthusiastic employees of Indian Overseas Bank participated in an event ‘Cycling to explore heritage Buildings’ organised by Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage, Government of Karnataka.
Event which began from ‘town Hall’ – one of the heritage buildings, culminated at the same place after visiting various heritage places in the city.
Speaking on the occasion Dr C G Betsurmath, Commissioner, Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage, said city has more than 200 heritage places but only few are known to public.
“Even the locals may not aware of all the heritage places. Need of the hour is to throw light on lesser known heritage structures” he said.
