ENARADA , Bangalore, August 6, 2014

Ryan International School (Yelahanka) came out winners in the Bangalore ‘City Champions’ of Derek’s Faster Smarter Better Challenge, the inter-school general knowledge game show, held at Cathedral High School. Overall, 37 teams from Bangalore participated in the Challenge.

Congratulating the winning team, Atanu Batabyal, Business Head – Karnataka, Vodafone India said, “We are proud to present the third edition of, Vodafone Derek’s Faster, Smarter, Better, Challenge, the much looked forward to annual Inter-School quiz competition.

At Vodafone, we have always sought innovative ways and means to engage with different groups of customers. The  Vodafone Derek’s Faster, Smarter, Better, Challenge, has been designed as an engaging general knowledge game show that provides an opportunity to encourage these young minds, hone their knowledge levels and instill a competitive spirit in them.”

Vodafone has since 2012 been conducting the Derek’s Faster Smarter Better Challenge, in association with renowned quizmaster Derek O’Brien & Associates, as an endeavour to help build better minds amongst India’s school children.

This is the third consecutive year of the annual quiz competition at the school level, where students from class VIII to standard XII are eligible to participate. The larger initiative covers around 15 lakh students from 1000+ schools across 40 locations in India.

The city level events see some of the brightest minds in the city fight it out for the title of the city final winner. The teams are judged on the basis of their mathematical, logical and analytical abilities, general knowledge skills and technology awareness levels.
