After elephants, it was turn of dogs to enthral Mysureans as the heritage city played host to the second open national dog show on Sunday at scouts and guides grounds.
The elegance, beauty and grace of the canine athletes combined with the excitement was the highlight of this competition.
Around 250 breeds including St. Bernard (Long and Short Hair), Mudhol Hounds, Salukis, French Mastiff, Parson Russell Terrier, Doberman, German Shepherd, Belgian Shepherd, Boxer, Great Dane, Golden Retriever, Miniature Pinscher, Tibetan Spaniel, Basset Hounds, Beagles, Shih Tzu, Dachshund and Rajapalayam were part of this challenge.
From Salem to Noida and Tumakuru to Hyderabad, the best in show dogs were wagging their tails in the show held in two groups divided into 12 categories; best in show, show breed in India, reserve best in show breed in India and best puppy in shoe etc.
The show, organised by the Canine Club of Mysore (CCM) saw the dogs which were cute, mushy, adorable and ferocious dogs. The organisers said the dog show was a celebration of the wonderful canine spirit, reflecting the emotional and spiritual attachment to our dogs.
Speaking to Enarada.com, Shashikumar, Joint Secretary , CCM said, Rottweiler breed is most suitable for huge farm houses as it is extremely loyal and ferocious. “Each Rottweiler breed is considered as equivalent to 10 security guards. Miniature Pinschers though looks small in size, they are very aggressive.”

this is very interesting to see the different dog pets and their performance. kindly inform me next time when their is a show, i mean dog show. i would like to attend this show.
