The police last night seized Rs. 63 lakhs from an apartment at Attavar belonging to one U N Abdul Razak.
Acting on a tip off the police led by the Sector Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner raided the apartment and money. The owner on questioning was not able to provide relevant documents for such a huge amount. It is believed that the money was meant for forthcoming elections though Razak denied it.
Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, ACP Jagannath and election officers were part of the team that conducted the raid./ENN
