ENARADA,Mysore, July 13, 2013:
Karnataka Minister for Information technology and bio-technology S R Patil today announced that the UPA government has approved the Mega project of Information Technology Investment region (IT IR), to the state.
Inaugurating the SPICITY phase II, built at the cost of Rs 25 crores by the software paradigms infotech pvt limted, on the outskirts of the city he said that ITIR would come up about 14 km from the Bangalore International airport. The area required for the project was about 10500 acres land and the state government already issued the notification of 2072 acres land in the first phase. Once the project completed about 40 lakhs of employment generation which would give another flip to the Karnataka already claimed the information technology hub in the country, he added.
He also said that the government would sanction Rs 7000 crores for the project in the first phase and this project would further boost the IT export of the state which gives one third of the total export of the country.
The state government has set a target of Rs 4 laths exports in the field of IT by 2020 years from present Rs 1.35 lakhs which is 36 percent of the total export of the country, he pointed out.
It would also provide employment opportunity to 20 lakhs by 2020 years from present 9 lakhs and the IT industry has been contributing huge sum to the state revenue he said
The minister also advised players in the IT industry to open their establish ventures to the Tier II cities in the state so that the wings would be spread across the state since, the Bangalore which already exhausted.
Comparing the IT industry with the manufacturing industry, stating that when one acres of land provided to IT industry which would give more then 800 employment , however, the same land to the
Manufacturing industry, it would maximum gives 200 people employment, more over the IT industry has pollution free, he added.
He also said that the Bangalore which has present population of 95 lakhs in which indirectly and indirectly 33 lakhs people from the IT industry.
He said the state government which announced various facilities to IT industry in the budget by the chief minister siddaramiah yesterday including Rs 100 crores for the Mysore city for infrastructure dev elovepment which has opens the IT investors to come to the city which has bright future in the coming days. In all 3500 IT industries have been working across the state majority of them housed by the Bangalore alone.
Speaking on the occasion MR B V Naidu chairman and ceo Sagitour ventures India pvt ltd and advisor to the state government on IT industry development council said that the state government which has already taken up plans to set to IT industries in seven Tier II cities in the state .
He said the Mysore city which has crossed Rs 2000 crores export at present and targeting R
