Senior BJP leader LK Advani’s resignation from all posts in Bhartiya Janata Party evoked mixed reactions in the political circles.
In a quick reaction Congress said that Advani’s resignation is BJP’s ‘internal matter’, Left reacted by stating that more such events are expected to happen in BJP.
The NDA (National Democratic Alliance) was cobbled together by Atalji and Advaniji. Advani’s resignation is not good for the NDA’s health” said Sharad Yadav, the convenor of the NDA. Mr Advani is its chairman.
Noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani said: “I don’t think Advani is a big asset to the BJP. Only Modi is qualified to lead BJP, not Advani, Sushma or Yashwant Sinha.”
“The party with a difference is indeed a party with differences as is evident from Advani’s resignation,” Maharashtra NCP spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said. “The fate of NDA is sealed as BJP suffers NaMonia. The UPA will bounce back to power in 2014 Lok Sabha elections,” he said.
Meanwhile BJP President Rajnath Singh has refused to accept his resignation, party leaders and RSS leaders were believed to be in talks with the veteran. ENN
