
Raghunandan bhat rendring hindustani concert, prasad kamath on harmonium and pangala dinesh shenoy on tabla

Connoisseurs of Hindustani and Carnatic music enjoyed classical music rendition by young and upcoming Hindustani vocalist Raghunandan Bhat of Bangalore and Carnatic classic singer K Vrinda Acharya of Bangalore, at Ravindra Kalabhavan, University Colllege, Mangalore on Sunday evening, June 16, 2013.
It was a perfect evening on a rainy Sunday to enjoy some soulful performance of classical music, jointly organized by the department of Kannada and Culture, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mani Krishnaswamy Academy and Swar Seva, in memory of CMD of PVS group Madhusudan D Kushe, who passed away recently. .
Raghunandan Bhat was accompanied on Harmonium by Prasad Kamath of Udupi and Pangla Dinesh Kamath on Tabla. Though it was a Sunday Ravindra Kala Bhavan was filled with enthusiasts of music who relished the two hour long music concert which began at 5 pm.
After Hindustani rendition K Vrinda Acharya of Bangalore performed Carnatic vocal concert for another hour much to the delight of carnatic music aficionados. Vrinda was accompanied on Violin by Kum Adithi Krishnaprakash of Bangalore and Mysore A Radhesh on Tabla.
On this occasion five distinguished achievers in diverse fields were honoured by the organizers. Those honoured include K Anil, Deputy General Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Ustad Rafeek Khan, Sitar maestro and staff artiste of All India Radio, Deepak Rao Pejavar, Yakshagana artiste, Krishna Pavan Kumar G N, B high grade artiste of All India Radio and Gagan Acharya, who secured 1st rank for the district in II PUC CBSE with 96.4%.
Dy General Manager of Indian Overseas Bank K Anil also released the CD of devotional songs sung by upcoming artiste Prarthana Sai Narasimhan on this occasion.
