ANTI-CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN in Mysore

In order to bring awareness  among the voters  the National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources (NCPNR) launched ‘Swatantradinda Swarajyadedege’ campaign in city and urged citizens not to be lured by money, wine and other gifts offered by politicians.

Speaking after launching the movement  , last night , at Gandhi Statue in Subbarayanakere where the freedom struggle began before independence, Anti-corruption crusader S.R. Hiremath came down heavily on the present day corrupt politicians who had amassed illegal wealth were a curse to society and elaborated on the need for creation of awareness among the citizens about the selfish intentions of corrupt people who would   involve  in the any means to achieve their own goals. He requested voters not to fall on their false promises during the election campaign.

He also demanded stern action on corrupt bureaucrats and politicians who had been inducted by Justice Santosh Hegde in his report as Lokayukta.

‘Grama Ganarajya is our birthright; Corrupt people get out of public life; Lands in rural areas belong to villagers and not the government,’ were the messages depicted on placards during the campaign in front of Gandhiji bust in Subbarayanakere here.

The campaign, which began at MM Hills on Mar. 22, will culminate at Freedom Park in Bangalore on Mar.30, he said and added that such jathas had already been successfully held from 3 villages in Soraba taluk in Shimoga  and from Sugalamma Temple in Obalapuram in Bellary.
