The proposal by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to appoint Sudarshan as Chairman of Karnataka Public Service Commission(KPSC) is attracting the wrath of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a press meet held today, Puttaswamy, BJP MLC accused congress leader Sudarshan of illegally grabbing 10 Acres 19 Guntas of land in Tank Bund area in Kolar city by manipulating, and strongly objected for allowing Sudarshan to occupy the post of Chairman of KPSC.
“Sudarshan abused his position, proximity and influence to get a Tank Bed belonging to Government land in Sy.No. 62, Basavanatha village, Kasaba Hobli, Kolar Taluk, Kolar granted to a Jyothi Education Trust, where his Kith and Kin including his wife were trustees,” Puttaswamy said.
Villagers complained to Karnataka Administrative Tribunal(KAT) and in November 2009, KAT declared the allotment made by DC was illegal while upholding the view that Tank bed should to be protected, said Puttaswamy.

Denying the allegation, Sudarshan said in a press meet today, he is not connected with the issue as he never held any post in the Jyothi educationl trust.
“The trust members approached me to get the said land allotted for the noble cause and I merely sent a request letter to the then Revenue minister. Besides this I have nothing to do with the trust, ” said Sudarshan.
However, visibly upset Sudarshan came down heavily on BJP legislatures who are trying to create hurdles and trying to stop him from occupying the highest post in KPSC.
“I welcome constructive criticism, but BJP members are trying to confuse people by charging allegations against me without verifying the facts. I would be happy to meet Jagadish Shettar, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, to show all the relevant documents. I am confident of coming out clean,” said Sudarshan.
