Mysore, May 20, 2013;
As many as eleven cars including a personal car belonging to a minister was seized by election commission officials today for trying to campaign without a valid permission to canvas in the periyapatna assembly constituency in the district today.
The election observers led by vereshwara singh was checking the cars which has been following the Chief Minister Siddaramiah , who went to election campaign in the constituency to be held on May 28. It was observed that the cars which has been following convey of CM had no valid permission from the district administration and election commission including the car belonging to excise minister satish jarakiholi.
Code of conduct is being strictly implemented by EC and even the chief minister’s car was not spared while checking.
Meanwhile the chief minister siddaramiah campaigned for the congress candidate K Venkatesh by conducting road shows at various villages in the constituency . The periyapatna elections were postponed following the death of BJP official candidate sannamoge gowda.
