Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the Krishi Honda and Yantradhare Schemes Under Krishi Bhagya at Hosalli and Samshi village of Kundagol Taluk today and said his government is committed to the social welfare and people friendly programmes despite resistance from some quarters.
The CM reiterated that his government is committed to work for the welfare and development of AHINDA communities.
Stating that Krishi Honda scheme will be highly beneficial to farmers who are solely dependent on rain Siddaramaiah pointed that though his government has introduced many schemes such as Anna Bhagya and Ksheera Bhagya the opposition parties are bent upon putting obstructions in its implementation for no valid reason.

The organizers of the inaugural function had a challenging task on hand to keep the Chief Minister awake as he was found sleeping on the dais soon after inaugurating the scheme. Not knowing how to deal with the situation organizers after some deliberations offered tea to the Chief Minister to keep him alert and awake at the function. Photos: KIRAN BAKALE

Talking about Krishi Yantradhare, Agriculture minister Krishna Byregowda said the scheme will help poor farmers to use equipment on rental basis. “Under this scheme farmers can take equipments on rental basis. To implement the scheme the government is planning to set up Krishi Yantra Seva Kendras across 180 hoblis and 270 centres in different parts of the state and the government has sanctioned funds for this purpose,” Byregowda said.
Byregowda further added that the government is planning to find a permanent solution to the various problems faced by the farmers and Krishi Yantradhare is one such programme to help farmers with small holdings who cannot afford to go for mechanized farming. He stated that government has set aside Rs. 500 crores for this in the budget.
