Mysore ,March 26, 2013:

Leaders of political parties in the Mysore region started  making on their own assessments to capture large number of seats  particularly the congress  party , which has strong base  eyeing for power in the state  with  the  election commission has declared the polling date of May 5 as battle field  looks open  .

Mysore, Chamarajanagara and  suger bowl Mandya districts , which was the traditional congress belts , however, political parties of Janatadal(Secular ) and Barathiya Janata parties had breaking the shackles by winning  few seats during last assembly elections.

Siddaramaiah

Congress party which won the eight out of eleven assembly constituencies in Mysore district leaving two seats   and one seats to BJP and JD-S respectively. While congress had won all the four seats in chamarajanagra district but in Mandya  the Janatadal(s) made inroads by winning four seats of seven seats leaving two to congress and one Independent  candidates during the 2008 elections.

Now the political scenario was changed since last assembly polls, the ruling BJP has already broken into three pieces. The JD-S trying to maintain his stature in the old Mysore region has to fight against the “So called united congress party” to gain upper hand in this region.

It was a  fact that the Mysore region is an Home turf for the leader of the Opposition party Siddaramiah  who’s  popularity at the stake  in the coming assembly elections besides  he was front runner for the Chief Ministerial  post if the congress party  returning to power in the state.

Siddaramiah also claimed that his party would win maximum seats in three districts in these recent statements in a meeting.  In all 22 seats from Mysore, Chamarajanagara and Mandya districts .

Siddaramiah contesting from Vruna and  Most likely the former union Minister V. Srinivasa Prasad (Nanjangud).former ministers  H C Mahadevappa(T.Narasipura),K Venkatesh (Periyapatana), Tanveer Sait ( N R Constituency)  Mahadevaparasad (Gundlpet- chmarajanagara) and Actor –Politician Ambaresh (Srirangapatna or  Mandya ) are the  prominent candidates from congress party . In BJP, S A Ramadas, district in-charge minister lone leader from Krishnaraja constituency. From JD-S , G T Deve gowda and four time winner H S Shankaralinge gowda , both joined party likely to contest from Hunsur and Chamaraja constituencies respectively while Sa Ra Mahesh, seeking second term from  K R Nagara in the district .

In Mandya with the return of former chief Minister S M Krishna to the state politics, native of the district the congress party wanted to sweep the polls with this charisma; however,  Krishna was on tight lipped on his participating in the elections and not making any move until now.

All the major political parties yet to decide their candidates in Mysore , Mandya and Chamarajanagara districts , playing  wait & watch  game to announce other parties candidates .However, KJP has already announced its candidates for few seats in the Mysore and Chamarajanagara district.

Even though the leaders of the various parties have been rejecting that the recent Urban Local bodies elections will not have any impact on the outcome of the forthcoming assembly elections,  internally they have their own apprehensions on the poll results.

In Mysore , chamarjanagara and Mandya  the  congress party which  has won maximum seats in the ULB elections , however, failed to get majority in the Mysore city corporations elections.

The MCC  which had been witnessing the fractured verdicts since last three decades and continued this time also. Congress party retained his 22 seats while JD-S won the 20 , two seats more than last time and bjp 12 seats short of 6 seats than last time. The Newly formed KJP, and BSR had opened their  account and nine independents  are the king makers in formation .

Particularly the  leaders who want to contest the next assembly elections from various constituencies on various party tickets are worried and started their own way of election champaign.

With the presence of former Chief Minister B.S Yeddyurappa’s KJP who make the some difference in the Mysore and Chamarajanagara districts, however, this factor would not affect in Mandya district. KJP has began their election campaign  from Najangud town in the district and B.S.Yeddyurappa lambasting attack on the bjp government .

Ruling BJP kicks off their election campaign with big wigs  taking  part in campaigns as they  want to retain power in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Jagadesh shatter.

The Janatadal(s) was not lagging behind in the Mysore region, which had already started their election campaign much before the other parties. The former Chief Minister and JD-S chief H D Kumaraswamy went round at least three times in this region. Capitalizing   the bad governance of the ruling BJP trying to owe the voters in their favour.

Three political party  and KJP leaders started claiming to win more number of seats than other parties , however, which party would gain upper hand,  one has to wait and watch until the election results announced on May 8.

The election movement will only pick up as soon as the candidates finalized and final countdown will began after the last date of withdrawal of the candidates on April 20./ ENN

  2. The author is diverting people. There is no influence of Yediyurappa in Mysore except Varuna where his KJP member influencing people with Money. Kumaraswamy and Siddaramaia are the only two CM candidate leaders influencing the district. We never vote Yediyurappa for his name, we were voting BJP and not influenced by any other leaders
