Residents of several localities of Basavanagara and Jagadishanagara in Heggeri area of old Hubli, protested with their damaged appliances today due to alleged negligence of Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM).
Residents assembled on the road along with their damaged TV’s, Refrigerators, Mixer Grinders, DVD players and other appliances and shouted slogans against Hescom department. They said there was a prolonged power cut in their area and Hescom staff who arrived to restore the power, made some error resulting in sudden supply of High voltage.
It is estimated that hundreds of appliances have burnt out due to high voltage.
In the High voltage election campaigning going on, who will look into this High voltage problem and help these residents is a big question.
