Kasaragod police who are on a special drive to curtail the menace of drugs have seized a huge haul of 180 kg of drugs in two separate raids in Uppala and Manjeshwar this week. The value of the ganja is estimated to be Rs. 27 lakhs. Police have arrested two persons in this connection and detained a woman from Uppinangadi in this connection.
The police stumbled upon the ganja when they raided a house in Uppala following a tip off and found 30 kg of ganja staked in gunny bags. On arresting Abdul Azeez who resided in the area and based on the information he gave the police raided another house in Bajal near Manjeshwara and stumbled upon 150 kg of ganja. The huge quantity of ganja is said to be the biggest haul of ganja seized in recent years. /ENN
