Janalakshmi Financial Services (JFS), a Bangalore-based Microfinance Institution’s (MFI) has reached the milestone of servicing its 1000th customer as part of a new model called JanaOne. Janalakshmi launched its first JanaOne center at Tilak Nagar in Bangalore on 10th July 2012 with the vision to be a one- for all the financial needs of its loyal customers.
Mrs.Gayatri Rajendra who is the 1000th customer of the Rama Murthy Nagar JanaOne centre, runs a saree and cloth business. Her husband Gajendra is a taxi driver and they have 2 children who are in primary school. Gayatri started her business 4 years back by taking small loans through the Janalakshmi group she is part of.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. C P Rangarajan, CEO-Retail Financial Services of Janalakshmi said “This is an important milestone for us in servicing the larger financial requirements of our loyal customers, on a direct lending model and our company is eager to support the aspirations of many such deserving people”.
Mrs. Gayatri Rajendra who shared her experiences said “when I started business I was selling sarees worth of Rs.200 to 300/-. Over time, my business has really grown well as per my expectations. Presently, I am selling Sarees worth of Rs.7,000 to 8,000/- and Janalakshmi’s new JanaOne model is very helpful to me to take my business to this level. I am planning to open a new shop to grow this business by availing services from JanaOne”.
