The Motorcycle manufacturing Company was shut down long ago, but their motorcycles are remembered across the country. Even today.
To remember the glorious past, proud owners of Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles have formed a biker’s club all over the country and every year second Sunday of July is celebrated as Ideal Jawa Yezdi Day (IJYD).
Over 250 motorcycle enthusiasts from Mysore, Bangalore and Chennai participated in today’s rally in Mysore city under the banner of Mysore Ideal Jawa Owner’s club which is organising IJYD rallies for the last ten years.
Jawa and yezdi motorbikes used in the rally was manufactured between 1960 and 1996 and participants said they still love their bikes.
Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles which once ruled the Indian roads in style were called the ‘kings of roads’ and it was manufactured at Ideal Jawa (India) Ltd., the first automotive company in Mysore founded in collaboration with Jawa Motorcycle Company of Czechoslovakia.
