Mangalore, April 11, 2013:
One of the accused in the infamous home stay attack of Mangalore was released on bail after five months being in jail as he happens to be a minor. The additional district and session’s court granted bail to Puneeth after examining his bail plea based on the documentary proof of his age. As per the SSLC certificate his date of birth was 25thSeptember, 1995 and therefore is a minor and his case is for to be tried by a juvenile Justice Board.
The sister of the accused had approached President of Dakshina Kannada district Children’s Welfare committee chairperson Asha Nayak who then requested the court for his release with the documentary proof./ENN
