The Tamil Nadu Governor Mr K. Rosaiah was sworn-in as the Governor of Karnataka at a special ceremony held at the Glass House in Raj Bhavan, here today.
The Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka Mr Justice D. H. Waghela administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Rosaiah.
The Chief Minister Mr Siddaramaiah, who was present on the dais greeted the new Governor immediately on assumption of office.
The Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council D. H. Shankaramurthy, the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Kagodu Thimmappa, several Ministers were among the dignitaries, who attended the function.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary to the State Government Mr Kaushik Mukherjee read out a Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India appointing Mr Rosaiah as Governor of Karnataka.
The Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr D. N. Narasimha Raju, the Principal Secretary to Government in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Dr E. V. Ramana Reddy, the Director General and Inspector General of Police Mr Lal Rukhmo Pachcho, the Bangalore City Police Commissioner Mr Raghavendra Auradhkar were present on the occasion.
