; To strengthen the co-operative movement in the state Karnataka Government has taken initiative and brought out the guidelines (rules) , which will benefit 36000 co-operative societies to perform smoothly. Karnataka CM Jagadish Shettar disclosed this while speaking as a Chief Guest in the Inaugural Session of the 4th National Conference of Sahakar Bharati at National College Ground , Basavanagudi today.
“Our Government has introduced many schemes to boost co-operative movement in the state including framing of rules for co-operative societies” CM said. He mentioned that his Government has extended 3%, 1% and 0% interest to farmers as the Agriculture Loan and farming community and milk co-operative societies is given a subsidy of Rupees 2 per litre of milk.
Speaking on the occasion, CM said that those who have taken loan up to Rupees 25000 from co-operative societies and affected by the severe drought , have been waived which is costing the Government Rupees 3600 crore but Government will encourage the movement as the co-operative sector has generated employment for 15 lakh people in the state. According to CM, the Health insurance scheme ‘Yashaswini’ is also aimed to supporting the co-operative sector.
RSS Sarasangachalak Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the Conference and said that the volunteers of Sahakar Bharati who are working in various projects of Co-operative sector are working for the bigger cause of building the nation.
“ Hum NAM ke peeche jana admi nahi hai, KAM ke peeche Jana admi hai” Mohan Bhagwat said while referring to the agenda of Sahakar Bharati .
